La Tavola Pottery is created by Michele James Hurley in her Barrington, RI studio. A 1988 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Ms. Hurley has traveled extensively in Italy. She draws inspiration for her pieces from  ancient, Medieval and Renaissance  Rome, as well as from everyday images from her garden and the seashore.

La Tavola is fun and whimsical, yet functional. The pieces are thrown and hand-built, and oxidation-fired to cone 6. All glazes are hand-formulated and non-toxic. Custom orders are welcome.
